Commercial Director/ Enterprise Director – North London – £65K + gen benefits

Our prestigious client, a leading educational charitable foundation in North London, is looking to appoint a new Commercial Director.

The entrepreneurial Director will be responsible for the strategic management of various traded facilities including a state of the art gymnasium, including income generation, maximising commercial opportunity, staffing, facilities, finances and Gym member relations.

The salary for the post will be circa £65,000 per annum depending on experience. Benefits include an excellent contributory staff pension scheme and lunches provided.

Key responsibilities: The Director is responsible for

  • Maximising commercial whilst balancing the needs of the primary education aims of the Foundation
  • Working with the Foundation Director of Sport
  • Financial management of all the facilities, working closely with the Finance Director
  • Recruitment and management of all staff working in the Centre
  • Direct line management responsibility for the Enterprise Manager, Operations Manager, Fitness Manager and Assistant Manager.
  • Supporting the Facilities Manager and work closely with the Head of HR with regard to all staff issues.
  • Maintenance of all aspects of the fabric and mechanical and electrical plant in the centre, working closely with the Estates Manager.
  • Provide regular management reports
  • The Director is responsible for increasing commercial revenue within their event hire, holiday activities, school clothing shop and the main hall which may be hired out for filming or extended projects.

    Person Specification:

  • A thorough understanding of all aspects of generating revenue from commercial operations within the leisure industry or another relevant sector.
  • Health and safety experience
  • Financial and staff management experience
  • Demonstrative marketing and sales skills.
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to balance conflicting priorities
