Academy Audit Consultant – Predominately Home Based – £38-42K

You’ll be working with some very experienced ex-Practice audit specialists; you will be supported in achieving your full professional qualification and there is a clear career path in such a large and growing company.

You will have a background in finance or accountancy with internal audit experience, ideally via practice, or by working in or for Education establishments in the Academy or MAT (Multi academy trust) sector.

You will be keen to progress your qualifications, already part qualified, the ideal candidate will want to continue to fully qualified AAT, ACCA, ACA and potentially embark upon your CIMA or CIPFA. This will all be supported both financially and with time allotted.

This role requires you to take the lead in the planning and execution of Internal Scrutiny Audits, writing reports, liaising with all levels of school’s finance staff including COO, CFO, Heads and other SLT, as well as being up to date on the latest legal and industry requirements to fulfil the position.

You will either understand the day-to-day operations of an academy finance team, or possibly have Audit (ACA) practice experience and wish to make a difference to students lives by providing sound financial analysis across a range of business areas.

Working in a developed business, part of one of the largest Education Services business’ in the UK, you could also assist in developing the sales strategy with the SLT, coaching juniors, and keeping the business informed and able to capitalise on opportunities both for the organisation and your own career development.

The role will be principally based from home (85-90% of the time), and as such you could be based anywhere in the UK. But there will be a requirement for Education Trust visits on an infrequent basis across the country and a clean driving licence and vehicle is essential.
