Education Support Professionals are looking for a motivated and hardworking Business Development Manager with experience selling to the education market, to join a new tech start up.

The Company:

The company was formed in 2015 by 3 students with the plan of developing next generation technology to the education sector.

The technology is designed to provide smart integration of apps to enable schools, teachers and students to function and learn seamlessly. Whether it’s communication, sharing school news and resources or simply administration, the product has been developed with safety and security in mind.

The technology also provides excellent opportunities to schools in reducing spend and cost and is certified safe & encrypted and GDPR compliant.

Due to investment and growth the company are now seeking an experienced Business Development Manager. Reporting to the leadership team, the role requires the candidate to think strategically whilst being hands on and delivering their target. The candidate will work closely with schools, the Edtech community and other parties looking to transform teaching, learning and research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that a minimum of 10 New Business appointments are set weekly
  • Open a minimum of 100 new accounts annually
  • Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times
  • Establish a rapport and build a good relationship with all customers
  • Demonstrate software effectively, using industry knowledge and experience
  • Maintain company database ensuring each meeting and follow up is logged accordingly
  • Maintain contact data on a regular basis ensuring all the details are current, relevant and accurate
  • Maintain a working pipeline and update daily
  • To liaise with other members of the team in order to ensure an efficient and effective service is provided to the client(s)
  • To communicate information to the team, keeping all members updated on sales presentations, feedback and next steps.
  • To actively participate in all relevant Company meetings including team meetings, performance appraisal, quarterly reviews and sales meetings inc exhibitions.
  • Comply with all Company policy and procedures
  • To be a team player

Key requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Sales role particularly in the education sector is essential
  • Ability to build relationships with new clients
  • Objection handling and driving sales
  • A good grasp of technology including the ability to develop an understanding of the company’s technological solutions.
  • To understand the sales cycle and be able to identify sales opportunities
  • Developing business through proven sales techniques
  • Delivering sales results by providing high level customer interaction and strong negotiation skills
  • Communicate persuasively and professionally with key decision makers
  • Able to demonstrate past evidence of achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Ability to work under pressure and achieve stretch targets
  • Be able to present clearly and confidently in front of large groups understanding the needs of each customer and tailoring your presentation accordingly
  • To be articulate and clear, with a professional telephone manner
  • To be presentable in business attire when attending on-site meetings
  • Excellent customer service and care skills
  • Ability to learn software products quickly and understand features and benefits
