Education Support Professionals are looking for an experienced and highly driven Business Development Manager for an established Edtech organisation.

The Company:

The company has been established for nearly two decades providing market leading online payment and income management systems for schools, local authorities and caterers.

The company is looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual to join the sales team as a Business Development Manager. Predominately a field-based role, you will be working closely with the internal Business Development Manager to target and generate new business sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business relationships, generate and negotiate new sales to an agreed annual target
  • Engage with new customers to capitalise on commercial opportunities
  • Present product(s) to potential clients through direct communication in face to face meetings, online presentations, telephone calls and emails
  • Maintaining an agreed level of pro-active telephone contact with prospective customers following up sales calls and proposals and updating sales forecasts
  • Manage and maintain a pipeline and ensure all sales administration is current using CRM software
  • Manage lead generation and business development activity within the region with support from the Area Sales Co-ordinator
  • Effectively dealing with telephone and web enquiries requesting quotations and compiling information
  • Actively and successfully manage the full sales process: lead generation; qualification; promotion; demonstration; close; then handover to the Implementation and Support teams
  • Create and be accountable for all client proposals, quotations and negotiation and close
  • Assist in responding to tenders and requests for information in a timely manner
  • Represent the organisation at industry events and tradeshows in a professional manner to gain new business

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Business Development/Account management role
  • Ability to build relationships with new clients
  • Objection handling and driving sales
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • A good grasp of technology including the ability to develop an understanding of the company’s technological solutions.
  • Confident and tenacious individual
  • A good understanding of web/IT systems and Microsoft Office 

Experience in the following is very desirable but not essential:

  • Background in a school environment
  • Experience of selling in the education environment

You will be responsible for selling the company’s Assessment application into schools within a designated territory. This will include a mix of existing school customers as well as first time new business prospects. The company sells a successful range of literacy and numeracy solutions, but this position is required to concentrate solely on the Assessment suite of products. 

The successful candidate will be required to sell and demonstrate products over the phone and Internet as well as through face to face meetings at schools. Excellent communication and presentation skills are therefore required as is a self-motivated and driven attitude. A knowledge of assessment and the education technology market for schools would be an advantage but not essential. Consultative sales skills are required as well as relevant work experience in sales.

Our client, a specialist ICT managed service provider, are currently looking for an experienced ICT Engineer to join their existing team. Reporting to the Head of Support, you will be tasked with visiting client sites / schools to install a range of equipment and systems across Brent, Fulham, Hammersmith and Westminster.

The postholder will be responsible for the installation of VoIP, CCTV and WiFi systems, installation of new and extending data cabling infrastructures, installation of AV equipment, providing occasional assistance on the service desk, as well as conducting site surveys.
