Initial 9-month Maternity Cover contract starting May 2020

Our client a mixed secondary school with academy status require a Chief Finance Officer (CFO) on a maternity contract starting in May 2020, with direct responsibility to the Principal who is the Accounting Officer for the Academy and ultimately accountable for the proper financial conduct of the institution.

As the CFO, you will provide advice on strategic financial issues, be responsible for financial management for the Academy and the leadership and management of the financial team.

You will also be a key member of the Academy’s senior management team and expected to bring a modern, business-like approach to the leadership of the finance function to ensure this continues to run as a highly competent and efficient service.

Your other main duties will include line managing the Financial Controller, the Finance Officer and link with the Data Support Services Manager for Educational visits.

The team are responsible for all aspects of financial management.

In addition to leading the finance team, you will contribute to strategy and policy development to support the academy’s aims and objectives, will ensure the provision of management information for the schools planning and monitoring systems, and will ensure the completion of statistical returns to external agencies.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • The experience, skills and personal qualities to operate as part of a close-knit senior management and business team
  • A finance degree or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in management accounts
  • Preparing cash flows and 3-year forecasts
  • Managing a small team
  • Reporting upwards to the SLMT and Trustees.
  • Excellent analytical skills and sound judgement
  • Excellent communication and presentational skills
  • Any experience of working in a similar position within a school is also highly desirable.

Leading sims support unit in Central London requires a schools experienced technical support officer, ideally with experience in supporting the technical aspects of the sims database, for a 6 month contract (possible to perm).

Starting ASAP Urgent, you will have experience of a range of schools network technologies including server 2012 R2, 2016, VMWare, Hyper V, Veeam, AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, SQL server, windows 10 and ideally Solus 3!

Reporting into the Federation Business Manager you will be responsible for managing two Finance and Data Officers, assisting the Federation Business Manager with preparing and monitoring the budget, ensuring the federation is following ‘Best Value’ procedures, managing all financial administration across the federation and ensuring that relevant financial and accounting procedures are carried out in accordance with appropriate federation and ESFA financial regulations, policies and procedures.
