Customer Relationship Manager – Education – Up to £35,000 + £3-5,000 Bonus

ESP are delighted to be assisting Applicaa Ltd who are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual to join the customer engagement team.

The company, established 7 years ago, launched Admissions+ in 2016.

Admissions+, which is now leading the market, is an online management software with a growing client base of 300 schools across UK, and five international schools.

They are looking for someone with education sector knowledge and experience, predominately working remotely, to manage key accounts with schools. Driving product adoption and usage, leading to renewals, expansion, and advocacy across the UK.

You will be a highly driven Customer Relationship Manager, working for a fast-growing ed-tech start-up, providing cloud-based Admissions Software to schools & colleges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand customers admissions pain points and goals
  • Represent the voice of the customer and provide input to the product, marketing and sales process
  • Collaborate with team members
  • Support the renewals process
  • Identify expansion opportunities (to cross and up-sell)
  • Provide insights to customers to ensure they get the most out of the product(s) – with the aim of helping grow the customer base
  • Be the named point of contact between the Company and several named key customers/accounts
  • Relaying and prioritising requests to the product team
  • Maintain regular communication with key customers about adoption trends, sentiment, and identifying opportunities for deeper engagement
  • Developing long-term strategic and short-term tactical account plans, to ensure the long term retention of products
  • Planning, creating and delivering software updates and workshops

Key Requirements:

  • Experience of working in/with schools
  • Understanding of drivers to increasing customer usage
  • Empathy for customers AND a passion for revenue and growth
  • Pro-active attitude, ability to communicate consultatively, challenge and manage expectations
  • Organised, able to meet deadlines, work well under pressure and deliver on many things at once
  • Ability to manage and influence through persuasion, negotiation and consensus building
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Formal presentation skills
  • Strategic thinking
  • Problem analysis and problem solving
  • Ability to communicate confidently with SLT
  • Ability to create structure in ambiguous situations and design effective processes

Experience in the following is very desirable but not essential:

  • Experience in the schools/education software marketplace
  • Experience of account/relationship management, business development or other customer-facing role
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (sales, product, marketing, services)
  • Experience of working with Capita SIMS in schools, or other education MIS or Edtech products
  • Detailed knowledge of Admissions systems and process’

We have a very high-achieving, independent school set in beautiful grounds in the east of the London Borough of Richmond who are looking for someone to assist with all Purchase Ledger process’, Sales Ledger, assisting with payroll and other finance admin duties.
Knowledge of the education sector is advantageous, but Sage is essential (ideally sage 200)

Salary: 25-27k + 34 days leave (to be taken outside of term time)
