Finance Administrator – Up to £26.5k – Essex – Perm

Finance Administrator – Independent School (Essex) *URGENT*
£24,000 – £26,500 dependent on experience (full time / permanent role)

Our client, a prestigious independent school in SW Essex / NE London have an urgent requirement for a Finance Administrator, who will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of finance across the school are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.  As the Finance Administrator, you will also be a key member of the school support staff and will liase regularly with the Bursar and members of the Senior Management Team.

Main duties will include:

  • Preparing and processing all fee invoices and direct debits
  • Maintaining and processing monthly payroll before uploading on to staff payroll portal
  • Adding new pupil starters to the MIS system for billing
  • Preparing and processing the termly report for School Fee Plan
  • Dealing with petty cash and all banking
  • Maintaining parent records in ParentPay
  • Maintaining accounting entries in the Nominal Ledger
  • Assisting in the provision of monthly financial reports
  • Inputting Annual budgets and supporting the Bursar in the preparation of Annual Budgets and audited accounts

Essential skills:

  • Previous experience of payroll, financial systems and controls within a school.
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Word & Excel)
  • Any experience with WCBS PASS (Finance MIS) or ISAMS (Academic MIS) is highly desirable
  • An AAT Level 2 Qualification is highly desirable

Contract

We are supporting a North London based secondary academy recruit to a Finance Manager/Officer maternity contract to commence in May.

Using Civica you will be responsible for managing purchase ledger and school finance tasks on behalf of the academy. Experience of using other school finance packages is considered and experience of managing academy finances is essential.  

This is a full time contract to start in May – term time only or part time hours may considered as long as you can work on a full time basis between September and December 2019.
