Our client, a leading co-educational independent preparatory school are looking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager to join their Finance Department.

As the Finance Manager you will liaise regularly with the Director of Finance and will be responsible to them for the day-to-day management and running of the school’s accounting function. This includes responsibility for the timely and accurate running and production of the payroll, school fee invoices, purchase ledger, management and statutory accounts, budgeting, forecasting and maintaining the school’s financial procedures plus line managing two Accounts Assistants.

The school are looking for someone who is dynamic, proactive and able to lead a busy department whilst satisfying often conflicting requirements in a calm and efficient way.

To be selected for an interview you will have

  • A recognised accounting qualification (CIMA/ ACCA/ACA or AAT)
  • A proven and successful background in finance, ideally within an Independent School
  • Experience of managing a school’s finances including the payroll and pensions
  • Experience of working with school’s financial and accounting software (ideally WCBS PASS)
  • A track record of working successfully with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • An understanding of the importance of Health and Safety and willingness to embrace the positive Health and Safety ethos within the School
