Head of Technology – The Aldenham Foundation (Role closed)

We are partnering with The Aldenham Foundation to find an experienced IT Lead, to be their Head of Technology. This role is pivotal in driving their digital strategy, ensuring they remain at the forefront of educational innovation. You will work closely with the heads of schools and other key personnel to support their mission and enhance technological capabilities.

The beautiful, 110 acre site provides a wonderful environment for both staff and students, car driver essential!

Opportunities:

• Manage a well-funded group of schools with significant influence and strategic input.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the technology team, including IT Services and Information Systems.
• Develop and implement strategic technology initiatives to support the school’s goals.
• Ensure the effective deployment and integration of AI, Automation, Power BI and other emerging technologies to keep them innovating in a safe and transformative way
• Maintain and enhance the 1-1 device programme, currently utilizing Surface Pro and Surface Go devices and the O365 suite.
• Oversee cybersecurity measures and respond to evolving threats.
• Manage a generous IT budget, a Windows Infrastructure and Cloud Services.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.

Candidate Profile:

• Strong leadership and collaborative skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with customers at all levels.
• Be excited by new technology but sufficiently hands on to make the right strategic decisions, ideally with experience of managing multi-site operations.
• Flexible and adaptable, with a positive and proactive approach.
• Experience in the education sector is advantageous but not essential.
• This is an on-site role at the Aldenham School near Borehamwood and Watford, with easy access from M1 and M25. Vehicle Driver is essential due to the location.
