Our prestigious client, who operate a network of highly successful independent schools are now looking to employ a Head’s PA & Office Manager on a 12 month maternity contract.

As the Head’s PA & Office Manager you will be the first line of contact for the Headmaster including his diary management, the maintenance of administrative systems, and for general secretarial and administrative duties in addition to managing the administrative team.

Main Responsibilities

  • To provide a warm welcome at all times, be well-presented and confident in dealing with people from all levels and different backgrounds.
  • To liaise with the academic and support staff as appropriate, generating an environment of efficiency.
  • To oversee the recruitment process of teaching and administrative staff including all pre-employment checks and maintaining the Single Central Register.
  • To show absolute confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • To cover routine events or emergencies with equilibrium and confidence. The ability to keep calm in any situation and to deal with anyone who may be upset or emotional will be an asset.
  • To assist the Headmaster in maintaining a smooth running and efficient Headmaster’s Office by dealing with all administrative functions, anticipating and scheduling regular events and meetings.
  • To assist with School events, including sending out invitations and collation of replies.
  • To take Minutes of meetings, as required.
  • To type of Headmaster’s end of Term Reports on pupils.
  • To support the work of the Admissions Department during school holidays.

To be considered for this position, you must have:   

  • A proven track record of successful support to a senior manager – ideally within a school environment.
  • Excellent MS Office skills (any experience of using SIMS databases is also highly desirable).
  • A typing speed of 50+wpm; RSA Typewriting or equivalent secretarial/ICT related keyboard skills.
  • Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and with rapidly changing deadlines.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work as part of a team with discretion, tact, confidentiality and loyalty.
  • A good level of general education, demonstrating a high standard of literacy skills to prepare correspondence/reports and maintain records.
  • A good telephone manner in dealing with a range of callers.
  • Flexibility to work occasionally early or late, as necessary (Time off in lieu would be taken during the School holidays).

Our prestigious client, who operate a network of highly successful independent schools are now looking to employ a Headmaster’s PA to work alongside the School Bursar and Registrar, at one of their prestigious  schools in West London.



You will be responsible for selling the company’s Assessment application into schools within a designated territory. This will include a mix of existing school customers as well as first time new business prospects. The company sells a successful range of literacy and numeracy solutions, but this position is required to concentrate solely on the Assessment suite of products. 

The successful candidate will be required to sell and demonstrate products over the phone and Internet as well as through face to face meetings at schools. Excellent communication and presentation skills are therefore required as is a self-motivated and driven attitude. A knowledge of assessment and the education technology market for schools would be an advantage but not essential. Consultative sales skills are required as well as relevant work experience in sales.

As the ideal candidate you will be articulate and enthusiastic, customer-focused and technically proficient with the ability to support a number of schools within the group.  You will act as the schools’ lead point of contact for IT issues and be responsible for providing IT support and strategic advice in support of teaching and learning.
