ICT Technician – SW London – £100-£110 per day PAYE – Contract

ICT Technician (1st / 2nd Line) – Southwest London
£100 – £110 / day contract (PAYE), plus lunches during term time
Initial contract to end of September with possible Temp to Perm option.

Our client, a prestigious independent school with over 1,000 pupils require two experienced ICT Technicians to join their established IT team and provide a full range of technical support across their school sites.

Reporting to the Helpdesk Manager, the ICT Technicians will assist in the administration and maintenance of the school’s IT systems by providing 1st / 2nd line support to users.  This will include the appropriate resolution of tickets and ensuring the communication of progress to service users in line with departmental SLAs.

The other main duties of the role will include:

  • Supporting mobiles devices and promotion of their use throughout the schools
  • Providing training to users as part of providing a complete support package
  • Write, edit and revise training manuals, FAQ pages and other publications in support of IT assistance.
  • Assisting with tasks and projects from the department
  • Troubleshooting hardware problems
  • Dealing with routine network connectivity problems and simple network administrative tasks i.e. user account management.
  • Assist with renewal of software subscriptions and maintaining the asset register for all devices
  • Liaising with external contractors as required
  • Providing on-call cover during weekends as part of a rota (normally one weekend in three)

To be considered for this role your experience should include:

  • Working in a similar IT Supporting role within a school or college
  • ITIL certification or experience of working within an ITIL environment
  • Knowledge and experience of Windows Server 2008/2012, Active Directory, Office 365 and SCCM
  • Experience installing PCs, printers, projectors, wireless access points and software

The ICT Technician’s normal working hours are either Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 16:00 or 08:30 – 17:30 with an hour for lunch. Occasional evenings and weekends will need to be worked to cover necessary work.
