Our client, a prestigious independent school in South West Essex, are currently looking for an experienced IT professional to work closely with the Head of IT, to support, operate and develop how technology is used across the School.

As the IT Operations Manager, your main duties will include:

  • Ensuring that the end users have an efficient and effective technology service built on top of a reliable and secure technology infrastructure.
  • Being responsible for 1st – 3rd line support and management of the school’s IT systems.
  • Management of projects and implementing IT policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Line management and leadership of the support team.
  • Providing staff training, mentoring and monitoring as required.
  • Management and ownership of the IT Asset register.

The ideal candidate will have worked in a school environment and have experience in all aspects of IT network management, coupled with previous experience of managing and leading an IT support team .

Technical skills:

  • Windows Server 2012/16, Exchange, AD, DHCP, DNS
  • VMWare Server
  • Experience maintaining a wired/wireless network infrastructure
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, Office365, GSuite
  • Knowledge/experience of MIS Systems
  • AV/Classroom technology, MFD’s, printers
  • Previously worked within the Education Sector

Permanent, full time or part time

The company is well established and growing rapidly supplying day to day operational support, networking, broadband, MIS support (SIMS and Integris) and installation project work.

As an MIS Consultant, it will be your job to provide telephone and remote MIS support to both primary and secondary schools, facilitate communication between your schools and the company, keep up to date with what services the company can offer and manager your customer accounts.

• Provide a one-stop shop for telephone support and assistance on schools MIS software
• Log all queries and requests to the Staff Portal helpdesk system
• Keep schools regularly informed of progress
• Test and implement new MIS products/upgrades
• Support the configuration and update of MIS systems in schools
• Advise customers on the appropriate training and relevant medium of delivery
• Advise and guide schools on improvements/processes whilst promoting effective use of MIS systems
• Enable schools to complete their DfE statutory requirements by holding seminars/workspace sessions
