School Nurse – Reading * URGENT *
Salary – £12 – £14 PAYE dependent on experience
This is a part time, contract position working 5 days a week, 3 hours a day

Our client, a prestigious Independent school in Reading are currently looking for an experienced School Nurse to support health and wellbeing, in order for pupils to participate fully in an active school life.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide first aid, emergency care and treatment as necessary
  • Provide confidential counselling and health advice service as appropriate
  • Arrange for boarding children to attend any medical, dental or other health appointments as necessary
  • Operate procedures for control of infectious diseases
  • Ensuring that the School Medical Centre is appropriately stocked and equipped
  • Ensuring safe storage, usage and disposal of medical supplies and drugs
  • Timely maintenance of pupil files, medical records and medical centre attendance records
  • Working with staff to ensure the timely completion of accident reports and following School policy in the submission of RIDDOR reports.

 Essential Requirements:

  • A degree in Nursing and registered with the NMC
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritise workload
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to give clear instructions
  • A proactive approach and a meticulous attention to detail
  • Working under pressure to meet deadlines and to have a flexible approach to working hours
  • A full driving license with use of a car
  • Previous experience of working in a boarding school is desirable
