Education Support Professionals are looking for an experienced and dynamic Product Specialist for a Global Private Equity backed Edtech company.

Due to consistent growth, the company are looking for an exceptional individual to own the overall Product Management and ownership of the STEM proposition working with content, curriculum, teacher services, business development and marketing to develop and deliver the proposition in line with market requirements.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify the various STEM offerings globally including content solutions, professional development and consumables.
  • Build upon the identified use cases for STEM and develop an understanding of their unique educational needs and pain points.
  • Develop customer and user personas articulating in detail how they buy and why they buy STEM offerings. Act as the voice of the STEM customer/user within the company.
  • Develop the overarching vision for STEM in international markets and the product roadmap underpinned by written requirements based on input from internal stakeholders, customers, users and their own industry insight.
  • Work with internal stakeholders in developing the business case for investment to gain internal approval.
  • Manage product development through its lifecycle from concept to minimum viable product to full-build and end-of-life.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and third parties to assess and establish product partnerships as needed to fill gaps and complete the proposition.
  • Run trials and pilots using an iterative/agile development approach and modify the proposition as necessary based on internal/external feedback.
  • Work closely with development/engineering, content, professional development and other teams to deliver a proposition that aligns with the overarching vision, meets market needs and is delivered to a high-quality standard.
  • Collect, manage and maintain traceability of requirements from all stakeholders across product releases.
  • Manage a team of independent curriculum contractors to enable the development and launch of localised versions of products in Arabic and Chinese or Spanish etc. in line with live opportunities.
  • Provide product marketing with insights on key differentiators and messages and development of product demos.
  • Communicate the value proposition to Sales (i.e. why customers should buy) and provide product training as needed.
  • Use customer feedback and usage data to collaborate with development/engineering, content, curriculum and professional development teams for additional delivery of functionality roll-out/product improvements/product enhancements.
  • Collaborate with the schools, MOE and after-school account/project management teams to ensure that the product is delivered on time and in-line with customer requirements.
  • Be a recognized expert in the business on STEM, the product, the customer/user, product competitors/ substitutes and relevant technology.
  • Maintain a current competitor analysis, using research-based data to understand the market landscape and competitor companies, products and services

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • At least 10 years in product design, management and development within the digital education industry.
  • STEM expertise having managed the conceptualisation, development and delivery of a multidisciplinary STEM proposition
  • K12 Instructional and/or curriculum experience.
  • Successfully managed a team of curriculum experts to develop digital products for a publisher, government or other entities.
  • International experience particularly in Asia and the Middle East with the ability to travel 30-40%.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute a wide variety of tasks with technical, creative and business colleagues at all levels
  • Strong attention to technical and creative detail
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced entrepreneurial style within a corporate environment
  • Managing people and processes

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Business, Technology, Education or Design
  • Bilingual (English and Mandarin)
  • Awareness of major issues and change drivers in educational pedagogy
  • Awareness of 21st Century Skills needs pedagogy, development and curriculum.
