IT Technician – 2 month contract

Location: Wimbledon
Salary: Daily Contract
Contract: 2 months initially, could go perm

ESP is recruiting an ICT Support Engineer for an initial two-month contract with a well-established independent school in South West London.

This is an exciting opportunity to use your IT skills and play a key role making technology work where it matters most: in the classroom and for the staff who rely on it every day in one of the UK’s leading independent girls’ schools.

This will be perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on technical support and wants a varied role where their work makes a real difference to staff and pupils.

You’ll be joining an established IT team, helping to keep the school’s technology running smoothly while providing reliable, approachable support across its systems, devices and learning environments.

What you’ll be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing responsive 1st and 2nd line IT support to staff and pupils.
  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, printing, connectivity and user-access issues.
  • Installing, configuring and deploying Windows and Apple devices.
  • Supporting Microsoft 365 applications, user accounts and access permissions.
  • Assisting with iOS devices and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) arrangements.
  • Troubleshooting classroom technology, interactive displays and presentation equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate helpdesk records and keeping users informed.
  • Supporting routine system maintenance, security updates and equipment checks.
  • Assisting the wider IT team with upgrades, deployments and improvement projects.
What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical troubleshooting skills with a friendly, professional approach to IT support.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Previous experience in an IT Technician, Service Desk or 1st/2nd Line Support role.
  • Good working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365 and common desktop applications.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software and basic networking issues.
  • Confidence supporting a range of users with different technical abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and a practical, organised approach.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a wider IT team.

Experience with Apple devices, iOS, cloud services or school IT environments would be particularly advantageous, although relevant experience from other sectors will also be considered.

Essential for this contract

Due to the immediate nature of the requirement, applicants must:

  • Be available to start immediately or at very short notice
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS
  • Have the right to work in the UK
